Two men, Luis Alberto Gonzalez and Jose Estevan Chavarria Jr., have been arrested following a series of armed robberies involving U.S. postal carriers across Riverside and Los Angeles counties. The investigation revealed that the suspects were linked to multiple robberies and attempted robberies in the area, beginning with an incident on March 24 where a postal carrier was robbed at gunpoint in Palm Desert.
Authorities identified the suspects through collaboration between the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office. The arrests occurred on March 28 during a vehicle stop in Burbank, leading to their booking into the Robert Presley Detention Center with bail set at $1 million for Chavarria and $80,000 for Gonzalez.
