Two teenagers, aged 13 and 15, have been arrested following a series of burglaries in Lewis County, including the theft of two handguns and a vehicle. The New York State Police report that the young suspects broke into numerous unlocked cars and storage units over several nights from March 17 to 19, ultimately leading to a rollover crash after stealing a car from a residence.
Authorities indicated that the teens fled the scene of the accident before being apprehended. They are now facing multiple charges, including grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon. Their actions have raised concerns about youth crime in the region, prompting law enforcement to urge greater vigilance regarding vehicle security.
