U.S. and ROK Forces Enhance Ties in Bridge Training

U.S. Army and Republic of Korea soldiers strengthen their military partnership through joint wet gap crossing training as part of the Freedom Shield 25 exercise. This training involves constructing an Improved Ribbon Bridge under simulated combat conditions, emphasizing the importance of mobility and rapid response across water obstacles in modern warfare.

During the exercise, soldiers from the 814th Multi-Role Bridge Company worked closely with the ROKA’s 5th Engineer Brigade to successfully transport and assemble a 190-meter bridge, allowing tanks to cross effectively. Notably, this collaboration underscores the critical role of interoperability between U.S. and ROK forces amid evolving regional security challenges.
