The U.S. Marshals Service has apprehended 117 fugitives and violent offenders across nine Massachusetts cities, including Brockton and Springfield, as part of “Operation Take Back America.” The initiative was launched to capture individuals linked to drug trafficking and organized crime, highlighting the commitment of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies working together.
Among those arrested is an accused MS-13 gang member wanted for murder, who was apprehended after being on the run since June 2024. Law enforcement officials also seized nine firearms and 188 grams of narcotics during this extensive 45-day operation, underscoring efforts to address violent crime in high-risk neighborhoods. The operation aims to reduce the impact of violent offenders on local communities, as stated by acting U.S. Marshal Matt Lawlor.
