A Virginia Beach police officer shot a person Sunday night who was reportedly holding a knife to the throat of another individual during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in a residential area on Brasileno Drive, marking it as the third police-involved shooting in South Hampton Roads since Friday.
The officer intervened after receiving calls about the domestic incident and found the suspect armed with a knife. Fortunately, the injured individual was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, and no officers or bystanders were harmed. Authorities are now investigating the shooting in partnership with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, as the community refrains from releasing further details about those involved.
