Waterloo Police are currently investigating two separate shootings that occurred within a 24-hour period. The first incident, which took place around 6 p.m. on Allen Street, reportedly involved a minor, a 16-year-old, who faces charges for carrying a weapon and intimidation following damage to a vehicle. No injuries were reported in this incident.
Just hours later, at 1:25 a.m. on Saturday, gunshots were reported outside a residence on Sumner Street, where a bullet penetrated a home and struck a gas stove. Emergency crews had to clear the area for potential gas leaks as police continue to gather information about these alarming events. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in their investigation.
