Authorities identify the victim of a shooting in West Dallas as 20-year-old Adan Sanchez, who was discovered dead early Thursday morning at the scene on Ingersoll Street. Responding officers found Sanchez with gunshot wounds just after 3:45 a.m., and despite the quick arrival of Dallas Fire-Rescue, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
In a related development, the suspect fled the scene but was located less than a mile away on Bernal Drive. When confronted by police, the suspect suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators urge anyone with information about the incident to contact detective Josue Rodriguez at the Dallas Police Department.
