Jose Marrero, a 36-year-old from Woonsocket, is sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple firearm and drug trafficking charges. Dubbed an “organized, experienced, and demanding drug trafficker,” Marrero showcased his arsenal, including AR-15s and machine guns, on Snapchat, ultimately leading to his arrest and conviction.
Evidence presented in court detailed how Marrero, prohibited from owning firearms due to prior drug convictions, instructed associates to buy guns on his behalf and even accepted firearms as payment for drugs. His Snapchat account, “bangbanggomez69,” provided damning proof of his firearms display, with many guns still unaccounted for following a federal investigation of his home.
