Alexandria Man Arrested for Drug and Weapon Possession

Courtney Holt Dixon, a 44-year-old man from Alexandria, Louisiana, has been arrested for possession of over two pounds of illegal drugs and multiple firearms following a disturbance call. During the police investigation at his residence on Dawkins Street, officers discovered approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana, a jar of psychedelic mushrooms, and eight firearms, one of which had an illegal barrel length. Dixon admitted to having the items before law enforcement contacted the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Unit for assistance.

Authorities charged Dixon with possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, as well as illegal carrying of firearms with drugs. The seizure also included 28 bags of THC edibles and drug paraphernalia, leading to his booking in the Rapides Parish jail, where he was later released on a $13,000 bond. The case underscores ongoing concerns about drug trafficking and firearm possession regulations in the area.
