The Indian Army firmly states that no air defence guns or related resources were deployed at the Golden Temple during Operation Sindoor. This clarification follows reports suggesting that the temple management had authorized such action to counter potential drone and missile threats from Pakistan. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami expressed concern over the false reports, noting that the management only cooperated with local authorities on lighting adjustments during a city-wide blackout. This situation highlights the ongoing religious sensitivity and the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the site, especially amid the heightened security climate in the region.
