The Asheville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and assault that took place early Monday morning at an apartment on Bartlett Street. Around 2:40 a.m., two men forced their way into the residence, physically assaulting the two victims before fleeing the scene with the victims’ telephones.
Authorities have identified one suspect, Keithan Deshun Whitmire, who is wanted on multiple charges, including felony burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. Measuring 6’3” and weighing 190 pounds, Whitmire has distinctive tattoos that could help in locating him. The police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them or use their anonymous tip service.
