Family of Boulder Attack Suspect Detained for Deportation

Federal immigration authorities have detained the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the suspect in a recent fire attack in Boulder that injured twelve individuals during a demonstration. Homeland Security officials announced that the family is now in expedited removal proceedings and may face deportation amid ongoing investigations into whether they had prior knowledge of Soliman’s plans.

Soliman, an Egyptian immigrant living in the U.S. illegally after overstaying a tourist visa, is charged with multiple state crimes and a federal hate crime. The attack, which involved the use of Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower, has raised concerns within Colorado’s Jewish community and prompted the State Department to revoke the family’s visas. Authorities are actively assessing the family’s connection to the incident and any involvement they might have had.
