A 34-year-old man from Norwalk, Melvin Colon, faces multiple drug and firearm charges after police allegedly discover a substantial cache during a search of his apartment. The raid revealed two guns, over 153 grams of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and more than $20,000 in cash, prompting serious concerns about the extent of his alleged narcotics operation.
The arrest follows a months-long investigation initiated in January, driven by community complaints regarding drug sales in the area. Colon, who was apprehended just outside his apartment complex, has been charged with five counts of possession and sale of narcotics, along with several firearm-related violations. With his bail set at $500,000, Colon is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.
