Denver SWAT Team Raids Wrong Home, Lawsuit Filed

A lawsuit against the Denver Police Department reveals alarming details of a SWAT team raid that targeted the wrong apartment, where officers allegedly held terrified children at gunpoint. The incident, which occurred on June 6, 2023, involved officers raiding unit 306 while their sought suspect was located just across the hall in unit 307, despite being informed by the family that they were in the wrong place.

The family alleges that the officers’ aggressive actions, including forcing them out of their home at gunpoint and disregarding pleas to safely check on the children inside, resulted in severe emotional distress. The lawsuit details how children inside the apartment cried out, “Don’t hurt us,” amid the chaos, raising significant concerns about police conduct and accountability.
