Florida Man Pleads Guilty to Gun Crime in WV

A 30-year-old man from Florida, Marcas Cory Anglin, pleads guilty to federal charges related to gun possession in West Virginia, stemming from a 2020 incident where he led police on a pursuit. During an attempted traffic stop in Nicholas County, Anglin fled on foot, resulting in a standoff with law enforcement while armed with a loaded handgun.

Anglin’s conviction comes in light of his prior felony conviction for armed burglary, which bars him from legally possessing firearms under federal law. With his sentencing scheduled for July 2025, he faces up to ten years in prison, along with significant fines, underscoring the ongoing efforts of authorities to enforce gun regulations among convicted felons.
