Michael Fan, a 25-year-old robbery suspect, is now a fugitive after fleeing the courthouse mid-trial, where he was convicted in absentia for a violent home invasion in Flushing. The incident, involving the armed robbery of a young woman at knifepoint, occurred in September 2022 and left the victim tied up while Fan and his accomplices ransacked her apartment.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz has urged the public to assist in locating Fan, who could face up to 25 years in prison upon sentencing. While two co-defendants have been apprehended, Fan remains at large after slipping out of the Kew Gardens courtroom. The DA’s office is actively investigating, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the NYPD Warrant Squad.
