Grand Rapids police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the early hours of July 4, leaving two people injured near Rosa Parks Circle. Officers responded to reports of reckless driving and gunfire shortly after 2 a.m., finding a woman with a gunshot wound to her hip on the scene.
Approximately 15 minutes later, a man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle. Fortunately, both injuries are reported as non-life-threatening, and the Major Case Team is now leading the investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department or submit tips anonymously.
