No Arrests in OKC Shooting After Thunder’s Game 7 Win

Police report that no arrests have been made in connection with a shooting outside the Paycom Center shortly after the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Game 7 victory in the NBA Finals. The incident, which took place at 10:35 p.m. on June 22, left a 14-year-old boy hospitalized with four gunshot wounds to his leg. Authorities have determined that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between several juveniles over a stolen belt, rather than the celebratory atmosphere following the game.

Authorities detained and interviewed several individuals at the scene, but the victim has shown reluctance to fully cooperate with the investigation. Witnesses report that an argument escalated into violence, leading to the shooting, while the victim was with his 16-year-old brother at the time. Police remain actively investigating the case, as shootings after major sporting events are becoming increasingly common nationwide.
