A Houston man, Jordan Javon Ashton, is sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for his role as a getaway driver in an armed robbery that took place on Halloween. A jury found the 28-year-old guilty after a three-day trial where they deliberated for less than two hours following the robbery at Morelos Supermercados, executed by two masked individuals who threatened employees with a firearm.
The incident not only resulted in financial loss but also left its victims with lasting emotional trauma, as one robbery victim testified about ongoing fear and anxiety. Ashton, who was already a felon in possession of a firearm, awaits transfer to a federal facility while co-defendants Latrayveon McNeal and Jerrell Potts have already been sentenced to 87 months each for their involvement.
