Jacumba Man Arrested with Guns and Explosives

Sheriff’s deputies arrest a 40-year-old man in Jacumba on Monday after discovering an alarming cache of guns, homemade explosives, and booby traps in his home. The arrest stems from a warrant issued for the suspect, who allegedly shot a neighbor with a pellet gun, prompting officials to investigate further, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Ford.

Upon arrival, deputies find the man hiding within a wall and armed with multiple weapons, including a pellet gun and an imitation firearm. Their search unveils numerous homemade explosives and various booby traps designed to injure intruders, such as rusty nails and screws cleverly blended into the environment. Fortunately, two juveniles were present but unharmed, while the suspect faces multiple serious charges, including child endangerment and possessing destructive devices.
