Joppatowne HS Shooting Trial Begins for Teen Suspect

The trial of Jaylen Prince, a 16-year-old accused of fatally shooting his classmate Warren Grant at Joppatowne High School, has commenced. The incident, which occurred in September 2024, involved a 9 mm ghost gun that prosecutors allege Prince brought to school with deadly intent, emphasizing that such an action indicates a premeditated plan.

Despite the gravity of the charges, the gun itself has not been recovered; however, authorities did find ammunition labeled “for police use only” under Prince’s mattress. Prosecutors also presented a photo of a firearm from Prince’s cellphone as evidence, adding a compelling dimension to the case as the jury deliberates the facts surrounding this tragic event.
