Mario Autwun Scott, a 42-year-old Birmingham resident, is sentenced to 45 months in federal prison for his involvement in a dramatic armed robbery of a FedEx truck in Shelby County. In 2022, Scott and his co-conspirator threatened employees at the Hibbett Sports Distribution Center, stealing two trailers filled with sporting goods valued at over $84,000.
Scott’s co-conspirator, Michael Anthony Pippens, previously received a 30-month sentence after providing a box truck for transporting the stolen merchandise.
