A Lancashire-based company, AMS, has secured a £14 million contract with defense leader BAE Systems to aid Ukrainian soldiers in repairing essential artillery systems during their struggle against Russian forces. This contract is part of a larger £150 million military support initiative announced at an international defense meeting, underscoring the continuing commitment of European allies to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The partnership will enable AMS to provide technical training and maintenance support for Archer artillery systems directly within Ukraine, enhancing the military’s operational readiness. As BAE’s CEO remarked, this collaboration combines their manufacturing strengths with AMS’s expertise in maintenance, promising rapid restoration of vital artillery equipment needed in the ongoing conflict.
