The Lima Sabres Shooting Association recently held its Women on Target instructional shooting clinic, providing hands-on gun safety training to local women. Participants engaged in learning essential firearm safety principles before receiving personalized instruction on handguns, rifles, and shotguns, making the day both educational and empowering.
With the next clinic scheduled for September 21, many attendees expressed the importance of firearm education, particularly for women who have historically been less involved in shooting sports. Sheri Markley, the director of special events for the association, highlighted that some participants come from households where firearms are present but had never learned how to use them safely. This initiative reflects a growing movement to promote gun safety and increase women’s participation in shooting activities.
