A 61-year-old man from Inez, George Spence, is facing serious charges following a domestic violence incident where he reportedly pointed a rifle at his wife. According to authorities, the altercation began when Spence allegedly shoved his wife against a refrigerator, leading to visible bruises on her arm and prompting her to seek refuge in her vehicle.
As the situation escalated, Spence followed his wife outside, raised a gun, and endangered both her and their grandson who intervened. After the standoff, which ended without injury, Spence was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment, and fourth-degree assault. He has since been released from custody, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 20.
