Michigan Man Faces Charges for Aldi Robberies

Kaleb Michael Shaffer, a 34-year-old Michigan man, faces multiple felony charges after a series of armed robberies targeting Aldi grocery stores across the state. His alleged crime spree began on December 10, 2024, with investigators noting a consistent tactic where Shaffer would request to speak with managers before implying he was armed and demanding cash.

After being arrested on June 4 in Rapid City, South Dakota, he has since been extradited to Michigan to face justice. Authorities from multiple jurisdictions collaborated to link Shaffer to the robberies, leading to his arraignment on June 20, which revealed additional charges from earlier incidents. As investigations continue, more prosecutors are considering filing further charges against him.
