Authorities have apprehended Tony Ray Spaulding, a North Carolina man wanted for several armed robberies, in Wayne County. Spaulding has outstanding felony charges related to robbery with a dangerous weapon in Greensboro and is suspected of recently robbing a convenience store in Guilford County.
The arrest follows an extensive surveillance operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Kenova Police Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Just before his capture near a local store, police had been tracking Spaulding for days, ultimately leading to his detention without incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation and considering additional charges, as they suspect that two accomplices aided in his attempts to evade law enforcement.
