New Georgia Law Permits Fluorescent Pink Hunting Gear

As of July 1, Georgia’s House Bill 167 allows hunters to use fluorescent pink hunting gear, providing a vibrant alternative to traditional orange vests. This legislative change is driven by an emphasis on safety, as game warden Erin Paulk highlights the color’s high visibility, particularly for hunters using high-powered rifles during deer season.

The law mandates that any hunting outer garment must consist of at least 500 square inches of fluorescent color, or hunters may face citations. While local stores ramp up their inventory of pink gear ahead of the upcoming hunting season in October, Georgia joins a select group of states adopting this colorful safety measure that aims to enhance visibility in the woods.
