A 54-year-old New Haven man, Musafa Bey, is facing serious legal consequences after displaying a firearm and threatening to shoot a neighbor during a dispute. Police reported that Bey, already a felon, wielded a .40 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number, leading to charges including two counts of criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree threatening.
Authorities were alerted to the incident on Tuesday evening near Jennings Way and Bosley Street. Following his arrest, Bey remains in custody with a bail set at $200,000 and is scheduled for a court appearance on July 9. This case highlights ongoing issues surrounding illegal firearms and the dangers they pose to community safety.
