A Pueblo police officer and a 16-year-old suspect are injured following an exchange of gunfire during a vehicle chase in southern Colorado early Monday morning. The incident began when officers responded to a report of a shooting and assault, which led to the discovery of the suspect vehicle about three-and-a-half miles away.
During the pursuit, the teenage suspect reportedly fired at the officer, hitting him before attempting to flee. Police successfully halted the chase with a tactical maneuver, resulting in a crash and the suspect’s injury. Authorities have not confirmed if any additional suspects are being sought.
