An armed robbery suspect, identified as Shannon Tanner, is apprehended following an officer-involved shooting in Glynn County. Tanner allegedly brandished a gun and demanded money from a T.J. Maxx cashier, fleeing the scene with nearly $980.
Police located Tanner’s vehicle the next day, but as a detective approached, Tanner reportedly accelerated towards the officer, prompting a shot being fired. Moments later, he lost control of his car and crashed on I-95. Tanner was taken to a local hospital for injuries from the crash, and an investigation into the shooting is underway to assess whether the officer’s actions complied with departmental policies.
