Philadelphia Men Charged for Machine Guns on SEPTA Bus

Two Philadelphia men are indicted after allegedly boarding a SEPTA bus with homemade machine guns, raising serious concerns about public safety and gun control. Kysem Humphrey, 19, and Jayquan Jett, 18, are accused of carrying modified firearms concealed under their clothing on December 17, 2024.

Investigations by local police and federal agencies reveal that these personally manufactured firearms, commonly known as “ghost guns,” are often harder to trace and regulate. Both men now face potential prison sentences of up to 10 years if convicted. This case highlights the growing issue of homemade weapons and their implications for urban transportation safety.
