An 18-year-old man from Pittsfield, Thomas Allen, has been arrested following an attempted armed robbery at a local convenience store on Sunday afternoon. Police responded to a report of the crime at A.E. Robinson store, where it was alleged that Allen threatened a female driver with a firearm while trying to steal her vehicle. The police apprehended Allen at his home without any incidents, aided by Maine State Police troopers.
Charged with two Class B counts of attempted robbery and other offenses, Allen is currently detained at the Somerset County Jail with no bail. His arrest comes while he was already on bail for a prior charge involving a false public report. He is scheduled to appear in court later today, where the judge will determine bail conditions and potentially assign an attorney for him.
