Guelph police are actively searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a bank in the south end that took place on Saturday morning. A lone male entered the TD Bank on Clair Road West around 8:40 a.m., brandishing a handgun and making off with cash before fleeing the scene, which quickly drew a heavy police presence in the area.
The suspect, described as a black male in his mid-to-late 20s, was last seen wearing a white or grey sweater and a pink silk mask. Notably, a handgun was discovered abandoned at the scene near a Starbucks across from the bank. Police are urging anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage from the Gordon Street and Clair Road area during the hour leading up to the robbery to get in touch with the Major Case Unit.
