Police Shoot Stabbing Suspect During East Flatbush Chase

Police officers shot a 29-year-old suspect during a chase related to a stabbing incident in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, late Friday night. The officer’s pursuit was prompted by a call reporting the stabbing, with the chase culminating on 21st Street when the suspect allegedly charged at them, prompting police to fire their weapons.

While a gun was not recovered, police did find a knife at the scene, raising concerns about the suspect’s intentions. NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell noted that the suspect, who has a history of previous arrests, made deliberate movements as if armed before charging toward officers, prompting a swift response. Fortunately, the stabbing victim is expected to survive following medical treatment.
