Queens Gun Buyback Event This Saturday

This Saturday, a significant gun buyback event takes place at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Jamaica, aiming to reduce gun violence in Queens. Participants can receive up to $500 in cash cards for turning in operable handguns or assault rifles, and the program operates with complete anonymity—no ID is required and no questions asked.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can surrender a total of three firearms, with a structured payout based on the type of gun. This initiative, organized by the NYPD in conjunction with Attorney General Letitia James and Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, focuses on providing a safe avenue for community members to dispose of potentially dangerous weapons, further safeguarding the neighborhood.
