A Stamford woman, Jackdelys Maldonado, is sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges related to a botched gun sale that turned into an armed robbery, resulting in injuries to four police officers. Maldonado, 23, was the last of four codefendants to plead guilty following the incident that occurred on July 1, 2021, where a planned illegal firearm transaction devolved into chaos as suspects attempted to rob the buyer at gunpoint.
During the attempted robbery, one of the co-defendants, Cristian Alvarez, rammed his vehicle into police cruisers, further complicating the situation. Under a plea deal, Maldonado will also serve five years of probation after her jail term, which could be reduced if she complies. The case underscores the dangers associated with illegal gun sales and their potential to escalate into violence, raising concerns within the Stamford community.
