In a commendable display of teamwork, the Stoneham Police Chief officially praised several officers and detectives following their rapid response to an armed robbery incident at Citizen’s Bank inside Stop and Shop. Within hours of the February 19 robbery, officers arrested 54-year-old Mark Amerault and charged him with armed robbery while masked, demonstrating the effectiveness of their coordinated efforts.
Chief O’Connor highlighted the critical roles played by Officer Antonio Ventresca and Detectives Stephen Carroll and Sean O’Grady, among others, in the investigation. Their meticulous follow-up on leads and evidence allowed for the swift identification of the suspect, showcasing the department’s commitment to public safety and efficient law enforcement. The collaboration also extended to the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force, emphasizing the teamwork necessary to protect the community from dangerous criminals.
