A suspect remains at large following an armed robbery Friday afternoon at a Truist Bank in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The robbery occurred shortly after 5 p.m., when an individual clad in a full camouflage outfit entered the bank wielding a long gun and demanded cash from employees, according to the Southern Pines Police Department.
Authorities report that the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, claiming before his departure that there was a bomb on the roof of the building. Officials conducted a thorough search but found no explosive devices, and thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident. The public is not considered to be at ongoing risk, and police urge anyone with information to contact them directly.
