Rockford Police have arrested three teenagers, including 18-year-olds Elijah Moncure and Dayviar Porter, after a reported armed robbery that occurred on May 14. The suspects allegedly took a man’s phone and wallet while brandishing a firearm, leading authorities to investigate and ultimately identify the 17-year-old involved through surveillance video linked to the incident.
Following a search warrant executed on May 21, police discovered ammunition and arrested the suspects on various charges, ranging from unlawful possession of a firearm to aggravated domestic battery. Moncure and Porter are now held in the Winnebago County Jail, while the younger suspect is at the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center, raising concerns about youth involvement in violent crimes.
