Thousands Unite in Boston’s Mother’s Day Walk for Peace

Thousands of families from across Massachusetts gather in Boston for the 29th annual Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Mother’s Day Walk for Peace, creating a powerful show of unity against gun violence. Participants, including survivors and advocates, hold signs and share stories of loss, reflecting the deep impact of violence on their communities.

The walk, themed “Cultivating Cycles of Peace,” seeks to not only memorialize lost loved ones but also to foster a culture of peace and healing. Founder Clementina Chery, who began the event after her son was killed 32 years ago, emphasizes the need to address the root causes of violence and to support survivors of gun crimes through advocacy and critical services.
