Two 15-year-olds from Lyndhurst are charged with armed robbery after an incident at a convenience store over the weekend. According to Det. Capt. Vincent Auteri, the suspects entered the store wearing face coverings and allegedly brandished a knife and hammer while attempting to steal merchandise, including tobacco products. The robbery unfolded on Saturday evening when the store clerk confronted the suspects, prompting them to flee empty-handed.
Thanks to the quick response from Officer Mark Rivera, who was patrolling nearby, both suspects were located and apprehended shortly after the event. They face multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and unlawful possession of weapons, and have been remanded to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center. Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the incident, and authorities commend the swift actions of the police for safely resolving the situation.
