A man dies and a woman is injured after Michigan State Police shoot them while serving a search warrant in Montrose Township early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at a residence on River Grove Road during an investigation into cocaine trafficking, where a 49-year-old man allegedly confronted police with a shotgun.
The trooper involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, which is being led by the Michigan State Police’s Special Investigation Unit. Three other individuals, including a juvenile, were present in the home at the time of the incident but were unharmed. The woman, aged 47, is reported to be in good condition following treatment at a hospital.
