A 30-year-old man from Virginia, Clarence J. Payton, is arrested in Steuben County on multiple felony charges related to illegal weapons possession. The New York State Police apprehended Payton on June 5 after responding to an incident at a residence in the Town of Erwin, where he was found with a Glock 17 pistol and an extended magazine, both of which he possessed without a valid New York State pistol permit.
During the arrest, authorities confiscated several items from Payton, including two Glock magazines and various rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition. His charges include criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and unlawful possession of ammunition feeding devices. Payton was processed and subsequently moved to the Steuben County Jail as the case progresses.
