A 20-year-old man named Aaron Johnson Jr. is facing serious charges after the Rochester Police Department (RPD) allegedly caught him disposing of a loaded ghost gun and a 9mm Glock handgun on Hollister Street. Observed around 6:30 PM on June 28, Johnson reportedly ran from officers upon their approach, leading to a foot chase that ended when he was found hiding under a garbage tote on Irondequoit Street.
The investigation revealed that the ghost gun was accompanied by a switch device capable of converting the Glock to fully automatic. Johnson’s charges include two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, along with multiple counts in the third and fourth degrees. He is currently held at Monroe County Jail on a $25,000 cash bail, raising concerns about illegal firearms in the community.
