A shooting near downtown Lincoln claims the life of a 34-year-old man early Sunday morning, igniting an ongoing police investigation. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 11:50 a.m. at 13th and E streets, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest; he later died at a local hospital.
According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred as the victim and another individual were walking along 13th Street when a suspect in a vehicle fired at the victim before fleeing the scene.
