Man Killed in Shooting Near Downtown Lincoln

A shooting near downtown Lincoln claims the life of a 34-year-old man early Sunday morning, igniting an ongoing police investigation. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 11:50 a.m. at 13th and E streets, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest; he later died at a local hospital.

According to law enforcement, the shooting occurred as the victim and another individual were walking along 13th Street when a suspect in a vehicle fired at the victim before fleeing the scene. The suspect has since been apprehended, but the identities of both the victim and the shooter remain undisclosed while the investigation continues.
