The University at Buffalo (UB) and Michigan State University (MSU) are collaborating to host the Remembrance Conference 2025, aimed at confronting gun violence within U.S. communities from a public health perspective. This year’s event will take place from June 6-8 in Buffalo, inviting medical schools nationwide to participate in discussions and workshops focused on prevention, community engagement, and advocacy against this pressing issue.
Following tragic mass shootings near their campuses, the two medical schools have fostered a partnership that not only memorializes the victims but also educates future healthcare professionals about the impact of gun violence. Keynote speakers include prominent figures such as Megan Ranney from Yale and Zeneta B. Everhart, an advocate for stricter gun laws, emphasizing the need for a collective effort in tackling the epidemic of gun violence across America.
