Recently, businessman Denis Twesigye, who withdrew 20 million shillings for a vehicle purchase, was held at gunpoint by armed robbers shortly after leaving a bank in Ntinda, raising concerns about potential insider knowledge of his transaction.
Incidents of these calculated robberies have been on the rise, with reports indicating that some attackers may have access to information about large withdrawals. Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke denies any direct links between bank employees and the robbers, attributing the rise in crime to monitoring activity in banks. As authorities grapple with limited options to address this alarming trend, the community is urged to remain vigilant following these disturbing developments.
