Dalton T. Geni, 23, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly pointing a loaded handgun at passing vehicles from within a St. Charles bar early Saturday morning. The incident, which drew a swift police response, began when a bar employee called 911 after witnessing Geni brandish the weapon and activate a flashlight attached to it, indicating a serious threat to public safety.
Despite holding a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card and a Concealed Carry License, Geni’s actions violated laws prohibiting firearms in establishments licensed for alcohol sales. He was apprehended just minutes after the bar employee’s report, and although no injuries were reported, Geni now faces two counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault, with his court appearance scheduled for March 20.
