Driver dead in Nashville shooting linked to car crash

Nashville Police investigate a chaotic early morning incident that left one driver dead and two passengers injured after a shooting prompted a car crash into a vape shop on Nolensville Pike. The driver, 22-year-old Ahmed Amran, died at the scene, while two passengers, both age 23, sustained gunshot wounds; one was shot in the back and the other in the leg and subsequently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Authorities say the car was fleeing from a shooting at a nearby event center when it crashed just before 3 a.m. Police believe a suspect retrieved a gun from a vehicle in the parking lot of the vape shop and opened fire at the fleeing car. They are currently following strong leads in the case and encourage anyone with information to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463, where tips can remain anonymous.
